Thanks to all the staff!Posted on Google SHERIE HAWLITrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve had nothing but a fantastic experience at Gaven Early learning. My daughter and son both attended there ( kindy and senior ) and I couldn’t think of anywhere better for them. They’re provided with structure and care along with so many ‘extras’ other daycares don’t offer. Bush kindy, Nursing home visits, library visits and swimming lessons. The educators are all fantastic the kids absolutely adore all their teachers Angi, Simmi, Maddy, Tia , Allen and all of the rest. Karen has been wonderful to deal with for us. The centre is managed and ran really well and there is so much effort out in by all to ensure the kids and parents have the best experience. My daughter will be off to school next year and has had the most incredible Kindy year at Gaven. Thank you to all the staff ❤️Posted on Google Whitney TroutTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son started at Gaven Early Learning this year and has settled in really well. He loves going to Kindy and he is learning so much! He gets to go on weekly excursions, and they are helping him to prepare to start school next year. His teachers are great and are always happy and helpful. We were both unhappy with his previous Kindy and I wish I moved him to Gaven sooner. Highly recommend!Posted on Google Ruth HakimTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I don't usually leave reviews, but Gaven Early Learning centre and all its staff need to be recognised and appreciated. My 5 year old son with severe allergies attends on 2 days, and the staff have been nothing short of amazing. Special mentions to Ms Anje, Ms Simi and Ms Karen, who go to great lengths to look after him and stay in close communication with me where necessary. The staff are always friendly, show genuine care and love for the children, and are always happy to help and be flexible with children's needs. Next year is big school for my son, and there's no doubt that there will be lots of tears leaving this wonderful and loving community. Thank you Gaven Early Learning.Posted on Google Shannon DuryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We enrolled our daughter into Gaven ELC after moving interstate and the staff have been wonderful with helping her settle into the new centre. I've been very impressed with the patience, support and compassion the educators have shown her every day when she has a difficult time adjusting and it's a credit to them to see how happy she is when we drop her off now.
QLD Kindergarten Eligibility
The Queensland Government funds 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year of free kindy. The outstanding amount gets split between you and the CCS. If your family is eligible for the CCS, you’ll keep claiming that. If your child attends a long day care kindy, you’ll pay for the hours of care outside of the kindy program (15 hours per week). Your CCS could cover some of these costs as well.
The Australia Childcare Alliance and Kidsoft have this handy Free Kindy calculator. Enter your session details in either the daily or fortnightly calculator. This will give you an idea of what your family’s out-of-pocket costs will be. The fortnightly calculator gives a clearer picture of your kindy savings by calculating your CCS and free kindy hours for the whole fortnight.
Gaven Early Learning Centre is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and care for children aged between 6 weeks to 13 years. Our team of qualified and passionate educators understand the unique needs of each child, and we strive to create individualised learning experiences that cater to their interests and abilities.
Our primary goal is to support your child’s growth and development, while also ensuring their safety, well-being and happiness is met. With a family-oriented approach, we create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels a sense of belonging. We are proudly family-owned and operated, and our commitment to building strong connections with our community sets us apart.

Government Approved Free Kindy
Yes, Kindy is free for all eligible children in Queensland! The Queensland Government provides 15 hours of free Kindy each week for 40 weeks per year for children attending approved kindergarten programs. This initiative ensures every child has the opportunity to get a strong start in their learning and development.
Free Kindy can be spread across two or three days per week, depending on your chosen service. Approved programs deliver 15 hours weekly for 40 weeks of the year. Services in long daycare settings may include additional hours of care outside of these 15 hours, which families can cover through the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy.
Yes, Kindy continues to be free in Queensland throughout 2025 for eligible children. Families can access 15 hours of free education weekly in any government-approved Kindy program, giving children the chance to learn, play, and grow in a nurturing environment.
Yes, Kindy and daycare serve slightly different purposes. Kindergarten (Kindy) is a structured, part-time educational program designed to prepare children for the transition to Prep. It focuses on play-based learning and is delivered by qualified teachers. Daycare, on the other hand, provides extended care hours and supports daily routines for children of different ages. Some long daycare services include a Kindy program, blending education and care seamlessly.
No, Kindy is not compulsory in Queensland. However, it’s strongly encouraged as it plays a vital role in preparing children socially, emotionally, and academically for school. Participating in a Kindy program helps children build confidence, develop essential skills, and enjoy meaningful learning experiences.
